I just sent Eleanor a bit of information from my slideshow that we worked on last time our group was together in Newberry. This information had a small bit of information about the Pugh family. It seems from what I had collected that the Pugh family were first in Old Chester County....then Hopewell MM....and then I next have them in Newberry area....is there a chance that this is the same Pugh family that was affiliated with Eno Cemetery? And that they made a stop in Orange County, NC before moving to Bush River? Anyone have information to help both Eleanor and me? I would like to add them to my Blog if we have some proof of their being the same Pugh family members. Eleanor, I can't send the attachments that I sent you to the entire list because rootsweb doesn't accept attachments.....if you have a few minutes today, would you please .....hmmm....perhaps I can copy and paste some of the information....let me try that. marsha moses On Apr 25, 2012, at 1:29 PM, Eleanor W. I can give a little insight into the Pugh's. I did not see them listed at Eno Cemetery so if you could post exactly who is there I might have more. nThis is what I have so far on Pugh. Azariah Pugh is definitely Bush River MM and Hopewell MM before that. Son of Thomas Pugh/Jane Robert_Rogers> son of Ellis and Sinah Evan. As far as I know they have not found a male for DNA testing. Azariah married Hannah Beals daughter of there are different theories on this. Their daughter Ruth Pugh married Peter Julien Jr. both died Bush River. I descend from son Elijah married Rhoda Coppock. Other familes that they married were Baskin, Tanzy, Chapman, Gray, Wrights and Minton. Peter Julien Jr and Ruth Pugh had a daughter Ruth Julien 1763, Guilford and they lived in Orange Co NC but I do not think they ever joined Cane Creek MM. Julien's were not early Quakers but married in. She is a sister to my Elihu/Rhoda Coppock. Ruth was the eldest and she married Elijah Stewart Pugh and they died in Grove Hill, Alabama. Elijah Stewart Pughs parents were Jesse Pugh and Elizabeth Stewart of Orange Co NC. Some of their children married the Baskin and Chapman above. This Jesse Pugh is the son of Thomas Pugh and Elizabeth Richardson>James Pugh and Joan Price. This line has been DNA tested but we still do not know if the two lines are related by blood. If anyone can shed more light on this group, I would love to hear from you. Here is an interesting website that you have to just browse but he does have some early land records of people that I think came on to Bush River like Wright and McDaniel and others. It has been a year since I found this site, so I am not sure just were I found it. If I have some time, I will see if I kind find it again but browsing if any of you have time might find your family that would not be obvious to me. I know there is a Valentine Hollingsworth there. I think he may have a book. His is a fairly young man, Mark Chilton and the mayor of Carrboro. http://piedmontwanderings.blogspot.com/
