My Thomas, Marbut and Inman ancestors came to Tennessee in the 1830's from Newberry South Carolina. Most lived in the Bush River area and some were Quakers. Recently on Ancestry I find for some of them that they were born in "South, Carolina, Puerto Rico, USA" Is this a misprint or is there a community in Newberry South Carolina called "Puerto Rico"? Jim Thomas.
There was a plantation called Puerto Rico over near the Santee area ...
