Jane, Elizabeth Chandler (b. 1765, SC) is my 4th great-grandmother; she married David Mills Miles 4 Dec 1783 in Bush River MM, SC. Their daughter, Anne Miles (1786-1824) married Elijah Jones (1786-1817) in 1806 (my 3rd great-grandparents). Elizabeth's parents were Jacob and Ann (Taylor) Chandler. When Anne (Miles) died in 1824, Elizabeth's brother, Israel Chandler, was appointed guardian of her two sons, Whitfield Benson Jones (my gr-gr-grandfather) and Lambert Jefferson Jones. Hello Willene, Well, I have some good news for you then. I tracked down a male descendant of Jacob and Ann Chandler, and he's submitting DNA for the Chandler DNA project. This may just help find out where Jacob came from! Also, this descendant of Jacob's has told me that the Chandler farm in Newberry (or at least part of it), is still in the hands of a Chandler descendant...his sister. He gave me her contact information andn told me when I'm in Newberry I should try to stop by. Of course that's him saying that, not her. : ) I'll try to do that if she's open to the idea. This farm would have been passed from Jacob to his son Israel I believe.
