    3. Dear John, It was great to hear from you so fast! The name of my gt gt gt gt grandfather was the John Herbert (1769) that you spoke of, the brother of Walter and Peter. I have some info on him and the rest of his family, but not that much. Anything that I can get a copy of from you would help a great deal. Most of Johns' decendents (our side) moved to Illinois and are still in Rockford and the surrounding parts. The kids are spread to the four winds, but the bulk of the family still lives up there.
