    1. Re: [SC-BUSHRIVERQUAKERS] Looking for family of ancestors David and Dorcas Mote
    2. I would be remiss to not point those interested in Bush River to the book "Charity Cook, A Liberated Woman" by Algie I Newlin. Sadly the book is out of print. Charity was my gggggggmother. At least 50 pages of this book are devoted to people and events at Bush River Meeting. Charity and Issac Cook were among the original ones there and their eventual migration to Ohio and Illinois is well documented. One excerpt from the book and the 12 mo, 26th day of1772 minutes of the meeting say" the ministering Friends of this meeting - Jonathan Taylor, Mary Pearson and Charity Cook -----in order to recommend them to the Quartely Meeeting and appoint them, David Jenkins and David Mote to inquire, make their report to our next mo. meeting--------------and if they find nothing to obstruct, to deliver the certificates at our next mo. meeting" etc. Thus Charity became a "recorded minister" like her mother, Rachel Wright. The book documents the marriage of their children to the Newlin, Furnas, Harvey, Herbert, Pearson, Lewis, Hollingsworth and Henderson families among many more families referenced herein. Charity and Issac Cook lived at Bush River for 43 years and then immigrated to Ceasers Creek, OH. Howard W Cook ************** Life should be easier. So should your homepage. Try the NEW AOL.com.
