    1. Re: [SC-BUSHRIVERQUAKERS] Mendenhall/Edmondson
    2. The only data I have on a Mendenhall is to Sarah Mendenhall. I have no record of her parents. Sarah married (11/10/1764) to John Edmondson,) son of Caleb Edmondson Sr. and his wife Esther Underhill. In 1764 the Edmondson family was living in PA. Caleb Sr. did not move his family to the old Pendleton District in SC until about 1772. Three of the six children of of Caleb and Esther Underhill Edmondston remained in PA. My records show that John and Sarah Mendenhall remained in PA. Info for Edmondson/Underhill researchers: Caleb and Esther Underhill married at East Nottingham Monthly Meeting 16th d., 4th m., 1736 at Rising Sun, Maryland. Marriage Book of Nottingham Meetings, 1730-1899. After Esther died Caleb married Judith Smith (nee Farris) widow of Luke Smith. Sheila Wood In a message dated 12/3/2008 7:07:16 P.M. The following are in the Index of the Book... Ann, David & Family, David, Jr, Jeremiah, John, Jonathan, Mary, Rachel, Timothy & William. Silas is a familiar name in the MOTES families, but more than one Silas. Some of the MOTES were Baptist.. His daughter Caroline Mote married Joseph E. Mooney from Wrightsborough, Georgia in 1817. Joseph E. Mooney was the son of John Mooney and Mary Mendenhall. We know the Mooney and Mendenhall families were Quaker, but do not know about the Mote family. Anyone recognize any of these names? ________________________________ From: Jerry Edwards <[email protected]> To: [email protected]; [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, December 2, 2008 3:37:59 PM Subject: Re: [SC-BUSHRIVERQUAKERS] Looking for family of ancestors David andDorcas Mote What are you looking for on David and Dorcas? 1. [SC-BUSHRIVERQUAKERS] Mendenhall/Edmondson -- thanks for detailed source info
    2. Judith F. Russell
    3. Thanks so much for this email below and several others recently which have DETAILED information concerning DOCUMENTS that can be used as source notes for our family databases. I was interested because my Isaac Edmundson is the brother of John Edmundson (and therefore brother in law of Sarah Mendenhall) who married Margaret Smith. For a timeline of her stormy life see http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/r/u/s/Judith-F-Russell/FILE/0027page.html It is fascinating to me how all of the families fit together..
