Kern and John Frederick Kern, Sr. He named his chidren: Lyndsey Whitten,, John Whitten, Jr., Sally Henly, Anne Jacks, Fanny Ray and Susannah Kennedy. Executors were Lyndsey Whitten and Claxton Ray. John and his wife Pheby are buried in Phillip's Cemetery on Duncan's Creek. John had bought land on the creek from Robert Whitten in 1793.
