Is there any way I could get copies of the 3 books you mentioned about the Wrights? Can they be purchased somewhere? I have a lot of Wright info and pictures as my grandmother was a Wright. I plan to put it all on the Ancestry.com site eventually so everyone can have access to my info and also so my research won't die with me. I would appreciate any help with obtaining this info you have. Thank you. Lynda Griffin 5330 ECR 328 Blytheville, AR 72315

    3. Vivian, I do not by any means know the lines of Wright families but do have a stack of Wright info probably four inches thick. Many pages are duplicates by various persons, but I can tell you that Roy R. Wright of 8 Gancho Lane, Hot Springs Village AR 1909-3807 has sent us copies of (soft) bound books on the family. After the first one he sent a second called Wright Revisited and then a third, Revisitt Revisited . It was published in 2000. You probably know of Willard Heiss who published many Quaker records (6 volumes on Indiana) and was with the Indiana State Historical society for many years. His private works were given to Earlham college in Richmond, IN where Prof. Thomas Hamm has charge of the Library there. I have about 30 pages titled "A Sketch of the Wright Family of Bush River, SC" that was his work sheets where he marked out words and wrote in others, that starts with the Wrights who came to Randolph Co,IN. He starts with James Sr. and Mary Davis and their children, and continues with John and Rachel Wells. The Original is in the Friends Collection, Lilly Library, Earlham College. If this is something you might be interested in I can copy it and mail it to you if you give me your Post Office address. 1. Re: [SC-BUSHRIVERQUAKERS] John Wright/Rachel Wells
    2. Hi: I descend from daughter Susannah who married Isaac Hollingsworth. They were among those moving on to Ohio. I have researched the family of John and Rachel quite a bit over the years. As far as I know--there was possibly one other marriage for John. I have not researched this possibility so don't know any more about her or if there was indeed a marriage. Most of my information has come from Quaker records and from information shared by other descendants of the Wrights back in the 1990s. Since then, a great deal of misinformation has appeared on the internet so you do need to be careful. Unfortunately I am on my way out of town and will not have internet access until I return on Sunday. If you are still in need of information by then I will gladly share what I have. I imagine, though, you will get plenty of help from others on this list. Burnis Argo In a message dated 10/19/2011 8:54:09 A.M. 3. I apologize because I know this is off-topic for this list.  I have a pdf copy of " Bush River Baptist Church Church Record Book 1771-1923" (actually about 1797-1812) that is no longer available online and would be glad to send it  to anyone who contacts me off-list at nancymagnuson@comcast.net.   Some of us are sort of connected to both groups, but they were actually not located very close together, as Judith has pointed out.  --Nancy   ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vivian" <vivm2007@woh.rr.com> To: sc-bushriverquakers@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, September 22, 2011 6:36:36 PM Subject: Re: [SC-BUSHRIVERQUAKERS] Bush River Baptist Church records Here is an excellent resource   Newberry County, South Carolina: historical and genealogical annals By George Leland Summer Go to Google, select Books at top of page Then just search for that title.  (if you just search Bush River Baptist, you will get more but this one is outstanding in my opinion) You can then search it by family name. 2. All, I am Jim Arnold, descendant of David Arnold and Sarah Embree. The Embree's were Bush River Quakers. I never thought to look outside to other denominations for family insight. David of not mentioned (maybe once) in the MM. I now wonder even more if he was an outsider, which explains why Sarah's name drops away. Any insight out help will be warmly received. Last fall my brother, my son and I made a week long pilgrimage back to Newberry, much was learned and much was found, and yet more questions were raised. My trip to the archives on Columbia left me happy and a bit flat. Should the collective minds of our group can help, again I will be most grateful. 2. Judith F. Russell
    3. Just a reminder....there was a Bush River QUAKER congregation and meeting in southeast Newberry County, and, on the other side of the county, the Bush River BAPTIST congregation and church.
