When I told him abou the connection and showed him how the trees connect, he said, "God Bless Israel and Hanna Gauntt!" : ) One correction to the tree I sent out, though. 9 John W. 3. Jane, There is a relatively new DNA project that you may also want to join after the Chandler DNA results come back. If the Chandler DNA project is through FTDNA, it will be quite easy (and free) to join the British Origins Quaker DNA project as well. Anyone with United Kingdom Quaker DNA roots is welcome to join. If you're already a member of another DNA project, you can join this one as well, without giving up membership in the other. Here's a link to read more about it. http://www.familytreedna.com/public/britishquakers/ Your surname does not have to be on the list on the website in order to join. If you know of other British Quaker names, please let me know and I'll add them to the list. I tracked down a maledescendant of Jacob and Ann Chandler, and he's submitting DNA for theChandler DNA project. This may just help find out where Jacob camefrom! Also, this descendant of Jacob's has told me that the Chandler farm inNewberry (or at least part of it), is still in the hands of a Chandlerdescendant...his sister. He gave me her contact information andntold me when I'm in Newberry I should try to stop by. Of coursethat's him saying that, not her. : ) I'll try to do that if she'sopen to the idea. This farm would have been passed from Jacob to his son Israel I believe. 2. Hi, another question, do I need to register somewhere now? Who is in charge of this reunion? Thanks for your reply, I'll see you there, I hope. 1. Re: [SC-BUSHRIVERQUAKERS] Coppock: book, web page
    2. Judy, You may have heard of Walter Edgar's Journal.  It's a radio show where a professor interviews people about history.  It has a big following here in South Carolina, where we don't have much to show for ourselves other than our history at this moment in time.  If you were interested in you or a descendants group being interviewed, I think it would do alot for recognition of Friends history here in the palmetto state.  If it sounds good, I will be happy to contact SC ETV (and radio) about a possible connection during the time that the reunion is taking place.  I think it is very historic, and that Walter Edgar would think so too. As you will see, the first part of a monograph presenting documentation on the name back to a1379 Yorkshire tax roll is available. The second part of the monograph, which starts with Colonial US Coppocks, is in preparation. Much has been gathered and will be presented as text and illustrations, and a database CD on well over 4K Coppocks and thjose closely related will be included. As the above site also indicates, we're interested in hearing from anyone willing to share possibly additional information and documentation that might be of general interest to those wanting to know about Coppock. Such things as the LA flea market surfacing of a Coppock Bible mentioned by Gary Hawley are of particular interest. We'd heard a number of years ago of a Coppock Bible said to be in Medford, Oregon, but so far we've not been able to track it down.. Then there a! re those Coppock engraved silver spoons mentioned in John Coppock's will of 1587! Hope to hear from those interested in this project, but since we're away from home much of the time, we may respond somewhat less than instantaneously. -- Cheerio, Walter and Ruth Coppock ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever. 3. Kay and others: Your Homecoming Committee consists of me, Judy Russell, plus Ann Crowley and Susan Webber. I hope you got our newsletter last week which we sent out to this Bush River mailing list. In it we gave a few ideas about what we will be doing. We will have registration materials to send out via email with a form for you to return to us so that we can get an idea about the numbers coming to the various events, especially the lunch and dinner on Saturday, May 17. We anticipate there will be a small registration fee plus the costs of the lunch and the dinner for your total costs.
