Dear Judy, There is a book SAWYER FAMILIES OF NEW ENGLAND, 1636-1900 by Eleanor Grace Sawyer. Your line is in this book. Sewell Brown Sawyer, b. 1817 in Milbridge, Maine is descended from James Sawyer of Gloucester, Mass. through his son Jacob who married Sarah Wallis 2 Feb 1716 and then moved to Cape Elizabeth, Maine along with a couple of his brothers. Most of the Sawyers in Maine are descended from them. I am also descended from Jacob. I have this book.
