Sally, I'm replying to the listserve because this is of general interest, I think. I'm definitely not discouraged about the Net; I'm now in touch with numerous Sawyer cousins in my line that I would not have known without SAWYER-L. It is finding persons doing Sawyer research in England that I haven't found much on yet (however, I've just begun this aspect of research and have a lot to learn, Net or otherwise). I gather you have gotten info from an Iowa Historical Society on the Web? I've done queries and receive list messages from several state and county Rootsweb sites, which I appreciate very much. My queries in these instances pertained to my Sawyer line in the state or county in question for the most part. I haven't done much on other gen. websites because I've found so much on Rootsweb and FTM sites and not much on others. The bulk of my research was done several years ago when computer info hadn't become so prevalent, and I am now looking to fill in gaps for the most part. Would also like to help my cousins, if possible, get our SC and NC lines across the water. Thanks very much for your response. Sincerely for Sawyer genealogy, Jo Sawyer
