Hi Valerie, I have the book, Sawyer Families of New England, 1636-1900 by Eleanor Grace Sawyer and Iooked up your Ezekiel Sawyer in there. She has him listed in a section on unconnected lines. The line is on pages582 and 583. The line starts with Isaac Sawyer, b. ca. 1762 Falmouth, ME, d. 11 May 1847 Gardiner ME, m. Lavinia Atkins of Bowdoin, ME, b. 1765, d. 20 Dec 1840 Gardiner ME. Both buried Cannard Cem., So. Gardiner, ME. She has 2 children listed for them: Ezekiel, ca. 1798-1877 and an unnamed daughter, b. 1810-1815. She follows with this above Ezekiel, b. ca. 1798 Gardiner, ME, d. 21 Sep 1877 Gardiner, ME m. 20 Jan 1825 Gardiner, ME Sally Atkins, b. 1800 d. 21 Dec 1873. Both bur. Mt. Hope Cem., So. Gardiner, ME. Their children: Mary A., b. 15 Jan 1827, m. 3 Aug 1854 Lewis Moore Charles N., b. 9 Aug 1829 Gardiner, ME, d. 10 Feb 1888, m. 14 Jun1853 Gardiner, ME Eliza S. McLellan Henry R., 1833-1907 Ezekiel W., b. 3 Dec 1836, d. 25 Feb. 1847 Augusta, b. 15 Aug 1840, d. 24 Oct 1856 She then follows with the family of Henry R. and then the family of his son, Ezekiel Joseph Sawyer. She evidently hadn't been able to connect Isaac to any parents, but there are many Isaacs listed in the Cape Elizabeth and Falmouth area, which is where some of my line was for a time. I am descended from a Jacob Sawyer who was in Cape Elizabeth and that family migrated there from Gloucester, Mass. where most of them were descended from James Sawyer of Gloucester. I think this is a hard family to straighten out, but you may be able to solve it eventually. If you have no access to this book and would like copies of these pages maybe sometime I could get copies made and send them to you. Hope this has been of some help. Phyllis Phyllis S.
