The line of descent from Thomas 1616 through your William 1679 is fully documented in a serious work of genealogy by a recognized author. I refer to Eleanor Grace Sawyer's "Sawyer Families Of New England 1636-1900," Penobscot Press, Camden ME 1995. It is shown that the line with supporting reference documentation is as follows: Thomas 1616-1706 EGS Page 166 for documentation. Thomas 1649-1736 EGS Page 167 do William 1679-1741 EGS Page 168 do If you need the "proofs" for this line you should get the book and make a copy of the sources so you can verify them for yourself.
