Hello all, I have not been active for some time on the Sawyer Rootsweb, but I have been active with the DNA research. ---- My husband, Chuck Sawyer had his DNA tested this year. His lineage goes back to 1642, William Sawyer of Newbury, Mass. ----- We went through " " FamilytreeDNA.com" and signed a waver to compare with all DNA's submitted The results were astounding. The highest markers in this line are "Irish", and he connected with four other names. ----- The most surprising thing to turn up (as I am the researcher in the family and was sure of all his lines) was that one of his Sawyers line in the U.S. married an American Indian-- or Indian enough to show up as a marker. You can contact Family Tree Dna by email, they mail out the kit and its two swabs, one in the morning and one at night--very easy. The cost is determined by the number of markers you choose--- I would recommend 25. Noni Sawyer, of the high desert of California
