    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: SAWYER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kRFBAIB/1407.4 Message Board Post: My SAWYER family also comes from the Tyrell Co, NC area. My line descends from Jesse SAWYER, married to a Ruthie. That is where my direct line ends. Any connections that you know of? Jesse moved from Tyrell to Macoupin Co, IL around early 1800's I think. Any help finding information would be greatly appreciated. My sister has possesion of a book that has all kinds of Sawyer genealogy, going back to North Carolina. It follows many different lines, one back to a Thomas who must have been a cousin or uncle to Jesse. I just haven't been able to find the connection.

    3. I can't go back as far as Jesse. The oldest thing I have is Miles & Harriet Sawyer. He was born around 1824. His son, Issac was father to my Grandfather, William Franklin Sawyer. I didn't see the name Jesse anywhere in the records I searched. I'll keep your email address and if I find anything, I'll let you know. ----- Original Message ----- From: <ewgalloway@comcast.net> To: <SAWYER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 04, 2005 9:56 PM Subject: [SAWYER] Re: Sawyer line from Tyrrell Co., NC > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: SAWYER > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kRFBAIB/1407.4 > > Message Board Post: > > My SAWYER family also comes from the Tyrell Co, NC area. 3. I saw that post. Someone a few years ago asked me about the Illinois folk, but it was just a hope I think. I really can't believe that any of our folk went up there, since they have such a history of not getting to far from the Albemarle Sound! But, that book does sound interesting. Oh well, maybe we will never get back past Miles. c
