    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Sawyer, Pilkington, Giffin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kRFBAIB/1441.1 Message Board Post: This may be a long shot, but I will try. I have a Thomas Jefferson Sawyer son of Henry Harrison Sawyer and Macedonia Cochran Sawyer. Thomas was born and raised in Grundy County Missouri, but there is no burial record for him in the county. A HISTORY OF GRUNDY COUNTY MISSOURI by James Everett Ford published in 1908 says Thomas was born in Grundy County July 3, 1878. He married Fannie (very close to Annie!) Bunnell March 11, 1900. {She was born in Iowa in 1878. Her parents are JT and Ella Bunnell.} According to the publication, Thomas had lived in Oklahoma for a short time before 1908. I have a picture of Thomas when he visited his sister Mary(Mollie) Campbell who lived in Washington. I suppose he could have lived there too. My great grandpa (Thomas' uncle) went out for awhile. It is possible that we have the same Thomas. His mother's parents may have been in North Carolina. His dad's parents Jacob and Hannah (Westfall) Sawyer are both buried in Grundy County Missouri. Jacob was born in 1806 in Adams County Pennsylvania. He moved to sometime before 1836 and married in Darke County Ohio in 1836 and is listed in the 1850 Census with wife and some of his children in Darke County. See if any of these names and dates work. And best wishes. We have hit a brick wall for Jacob's parents. The only other Sawyer's in Adams County Pennsylvania at the right time were Daniel and Elizabeth, but the census records do not give the names of children. The dates seem to match but.......
