Hi Sally: The Thomas Sawyer 1616 I refer to never left New England after coming from England in 1636. He settled first in Ipswich and later became the village blacksmith in Rowley, MA. He married Mary Prescott and they had a large family reported to be of 14 children by some authors. He died in Lancaster MA in 1706. We have a photo of his gravestone as the lead photo on our Thomas Sawyer 1616 Family Research Center site. The Children's names are in Eleanor Grace Sawyer's book pp 165-16. I can provide a list of them if you do not have the reference book.
