My great grandmother, Mary Ferguson, was living with a Crider family in Edgar Co. Illinois when she married William A. Doughty in 1870. William was a native of Franklin County, Ohio, and was working in Edgar County, IL. Their children's birth records show that their mother's maiden name was SAWYER, not Ferguson, so it appears that Mary had a previous marriage. William and Mary Sawyer Doughty returned to live in Franklin County, Ohio within a year of their marriage, and had a family of 6 sons 1871-1883 - Harry Lee, Fred J., Frank A., William Wray, Leonard, and Orin. Mary Sawyer Ferguson Doughty gave her birthplace as Ohio on census records of 1870 (age 27) and 1880 (age 39), making her birth year 1841-1843. I can't find Mary's parents.
