The Joseph in our line was born in 1901, several years later than the Joseph you are trying to trace. I have come across many Sawyer families all throughout New York - many with the same first names which makes the search that much more difficult. I don't suppose you happen to know his parents' names or the name of his spouse? Another way I sometimes run into luck is in trying to trace siblings and their spouses.
