I am wondering who the early William Sawyer that appears periodically and early on in the Chowan area and Pasquotank. He and a Charles Sawyer did business with some of the same people and each other. There was an earlier Thomas Sayer who was married to Isabella Frizzell, I believe her father was John Frizzell who was in Lower Norfolk County.....1680s. Sometimes you will see Sayer on original documents. The early Sawyers all owned land touching at one time., John, Henry, Robert etc. I did find a very early reference regarding Thomas Sawyer and referred to "old Thomas Sawyer's place but yet to find any information regarding this....so there may have been two Thomas....as I said have not researched this in a while.
