    1. Sawyer signature Pasquotank 1690s
    2. Arcell Sawyer
    3. There is a John Sawyer (signed Sayor) who signed a will of Thomas Price in Pasquotank Co. N.C. in 1690s in I have viewed this will a few years ago, and the signature appears as Sayor. Has anyone noted on the early Sawyers in this area of North Carolina that the signature was anything other than Sawyer? Thanks for a response. A. Sawyer

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/kRFBAIB/1433.1.2 Message Board Post: I have traced my mother Jean (Sawyer) Lefebvre back 11 generations to John Howland of the Mayflower and I did it through the Davis family line. The entire line either lived in Gorham, Standish, Bridgton or Windham, Maine. Samuel Davis originally came from Barnstable, Mass. I also have photographs of the grave sites in Maine. Samuel Davis was the LAST surviving resident of Standish, Maine who was a Revolutionary War veteran and is buried in the Standish Center Cemetery.

    1. Sawyer photographs
    2. Mary Lou Rogers
    3. The only reason that I have joined the Sawyer list would be to tell you that I have three Sawyer photograph's that may be from Iowa or lower Minnesota. One has Will Sawyer written on the back and the photographer was Edwards & Stanley of New Sharon, Iowa. One is a tin type in a little folder and on the back is hand written Hans Sawyer. The last one is a photo with Sawyer written on the back. It is of a family sitting outside a house. Appears to be a father, mother, with 9 children. They range in age from a baby of almost one to grown adult children. These were in a sack of my mother's possessions when she passed away in 1996. They are not my relatives and I do not know why she had them but they need a home with their own family. Mary Lou

If I remember correctly one of the sheets listed a Skillings family and their children. I vaguely remember a Mary Skillings who married a Sawyer but I will have to look . Did you want to know anything in particular about Bertha Sawyer? She also had a twin sister, Bernice. Their brother, Warren Louville Sawyer, was my grandfather.
