Does this connect with anybody I would love to hear from anyone who knows of these family's.

I am related from John Sawyer born abt. 1730. Anything previous to this has not been proven as yet, down through Henry Stanmore Sawyer. The Creed sisters did some of the orignal research on these Sawyers. I saw that post. Someone a few years ago asked me about the Illinois folk, but it was just a hope I think. I really can't believe that any of our folk went up there, since they have such a history of not getting to far from the Albemarle Sound! But, that book does sound interesting. I can't go back as far as Jesse. The oldest thing I have is Miles & Harriet Sawyer. He was born around 1824. His son, Issac was father to my Grandfather, William Franklin Sawyer. I didn't see the name Jesse anywhere in the records I searched. He was in the Army. I am not sure exactly when, but it is not the same Col. John Sawyer noted in this forum. This John Sawyer was in the Army sometime between 1924 and 1960. He may have attended MIT. I have about a half dozen Radio and electronics engineering books dating between 1917 and 1948 that belonged to him. They are in good shape and I would like to find his family to give them to.
