The only one I've confirmed is my ancestor Hannah (b. 1797), who married Daniel Hacker of Brunswick sometime in the 1820s. As far as I know, Hannah and Daniel stayed in Maine their whole lives. That said, there were certainly more children (I'm guessing -- but have not yet confirmed -- that two additional children may be Daniel C. (b. 1795) and Jane E. (b. 1792)). Your Joseph's year of birth would clearly be in line with these dates. At some point, I hope to access VRs for Brunswick and Harpswell to find their other children. When I do, I'll be happy to post them here on the Sawyer board.

I have a Joseph Sawyer, b. 1793/4 in the NE who went west via Indiana and Ohio to become an early settler of Illinois. Sawyer and Elizabeth Hanscom Phebe marries Robert Mitchell Feb 29 1832 in Avon Maine. They have son Orrin Mitchell born 1841 in Phillips Maine. I found Robert Mitchell in the 1860 and 1880 Maine census up in Aroostook Maine but with his second wife. I am looking for info on when Phebe died and where. Also in the 1860 census there is a Phoebe J. listed as daughter of Robert Mitchell, she was born about 1843. I am assuming she may be the daughter of Phebe and Robert but that was the first I had heard of her. Any info on either Phebe would be greatly appreciated.

I have Susan Scroggin who married Wiley Sawyer, son of Elkanah Sawyer and Miriam Belk Sawyer. Wiley and family moved to Alabama and married into my Robertson/Roberson family. Of real interest is the movement to Macoupin, Illinois, since other families connected to my Sawyer and Rob families also moved to Macoupin...Thornton, etc. A ggggrandaunt Martha Harrison Robertson moved there with six of her youngest children after her husband Nathaniel died during the WBS. What pulled these people to Illinois? Will share my Sawyer data. Write to me off the Board if you are interested. Freda
