This Clarissa was at least one point married to a Cyrus Clark, on December 28, 1825. The children they had were: Sarah, Lucy, Abigail, Hannah, Orange, Milton, Chloe, and Merritt. I can provide birth dates for them, and death dates for Chloe and Merritt. She died on October 8, 1858. The text, apparently read at her funeral was: Psalm 116:15. This is all from a book of family records my ancestor and Morris's brother, Elisha Sawyer, started. The funny thing is, it seems she is also buried at Daniels Cemetery in Ridgeway, NY, according to http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyorlean/cemdan.htm but it has her as having died in 1863. My great-great grandparents and one of their sons all died in Rockford, IL, but their remains were interred in Lyndonville, NY. Where in Illinois did Clarissa live? Jane.
Jane, If Morris Sawyer is buried in Minden, LA, its Webster Parish because Minden is in Webster Parish, not Claiborne Parish.
