I see an Elizabeth SAWYER born 28 December 1746. Does not say who she married. Her parents are Joshua SAWYER and Sarah FLINT.This family appears to have been in Mansfield and Windham CT. There is an Elizabeth daughter of James SAWYER. She was b. 1747 and married Jonathan POOR. Sylvia

Greetings from Texas, I am looking for information on Elizabeth Sawyer ,b.1746,perhaps near Ashfield,Franklin Co.Mass.She married Chileab Smith on Oct.4,1764 in Ashfield,Mass. and died there on Feb.1,1814.One source I found has her father being James Sawyer,b.circa 1720,but I haven't been able to verify this. SARAH SAWYERS is listed on the 1800 Fed census of Edgefield district, SC. She is apparently widowed. The household listing is as follows: 01000//10110 These census numbers indicate that she had a daughter in the 0-5 age category. We can then assume her husband was alive till about 1795. There is no listing for her on the 1790 census, that is no SAWYERS in the district. I am hoping for someone who has access to the 1810 census of that district to see if her household increases. It is possible that she might have had an illegitimate son by 1810 which might explain my family mystery as to why I cannot locate a SAWYER family with a son properly aged to be born in 1808. Additionally, my Gt Gt Grandfather, (the mystery man DANIEL Y SAWYERS) married JANE, daughter of William O Williams. For the information of all reading this query, the widow SAWYERS, and WILLIAM WILLIAMS, both appear on the same page, #272 line 1121 &1152 of the 1800 Fed census showing that they lived very close together!!! I have located Kindred, Floyd, and Lewis Sawyer ( all 3 were born in S.C.)living in Houston Co., Ga. in 1850. Kindred was in Barbour Co., Ala. in 1860.( His son Greenberry moved back to Dodge Co., Ga. where he married and had his family.) In 1860, the census shows that Floyd had children born in Ala. between 1850 and 1860, but he moved back to Houston Co., Ga. In 1840, a William Sawyer was shown living in Houston Co., Ga. He was between 50 and 60 years old and his wife was between 40 and 50. There were several family members shown also living there. The names William and Mary show up as names for children in Kindred and Floyd's families so it is probable that they are brothers. (They lived 2 doors apart in 1850 .) Lewis is a page and a half away but could still be a brother. Are William and Mary parents to these? Any information will be helpful. Thanks, Susan

I am looking for positive connexion between Lemuel Sawyer (b. 1777) and Elizabeth Sawyer who married Benjamin Small in Wayne County, IN and later Zebulon Overman in that county (27 May 1827). Hinshaw lists her parents as Stephen and Mary Sawyer, but I have seen other secondary sources that say she is the daughter of Lemuel and Mary Taylor Sawyer. Any help greatly appreciated!
