Dear Don, The first two men on the Texas Confederate pensions, W. P. (WILLIAM P.) and JAMES LINSFORD (JAMES LUNSFORD), were both sons of RICHARD HENRY SASSER and JANE JOHNSON. James Lunsford married LAVINIA E. BRIDGE in 1871 and later moved to Texas. I don't have anything on his descendants though. His brother William P. also moved to Texas. Don't have anything on his descendants either (my records are very sparse on Texas records!). The "J. F." was JACOB F., born in Barbour County, Alabama (on the Georgia border) and son of SAMUEL D. SASSER and his wife ELIZABETH JANE. SAMUEL D. was a son of JOHN S. SASSER Sr. and grandson of BRITTON. Again, I have no info on Jacob's descendants.
