Don and all, I have kept looking at the message below without replying to it, probably because the quite obvious answer does not seem the likely one. But is is possible that this is the patriarch himself--that he remarried shortly before his 79th birthday and slightly less than two years before he died? If this had been the case, it seems that there should have been some other record (or tradition) of it. Soon after I joined the Sasser List I suggested the possibility that, in light of his age, Henry might have been a widower when he married Nancy Kirby. I said I didn't think so. But later I saw evidence that this indeed was true. Again, I don't think so. I infer from someone's e-mail message that there is a death certificate for Henry; presumably that would have shown that he had a surviving wife if he indeed had one, but she could have died before he did. Could the Arthur Sasser who married Fannie Hubbard in 1899 have been Henry's son who was born in 1818? He would have ben 81 years old. Since I don't have the date of death for his wife, Lavina Weaver, I have no idea whether he was a widower in 1899. That is also said to be the year of his death.. Someone probably has information that would show such suggestions to be ludicrous. I will be glad to hear it.
