My ancestor, Allen Ann Sasser was born about 1828 and married James Herring, son of Simon Herring and Nancy Dawson. I do not know who the parents of Allen Ann Sasser were. I have recently found a letter written to me in 1981 that might offer clues to the identities of Allen Ann's parents. Simon Herring and Nancy Dawson had 12 children. Three of the 12 children married Sassers. Allen Herring married ___________ Sasser. James Herring married Allen Ann Sasser. John Herring married Nannie Sasser. I would appreciate any information about the Sassers listed above that might lead to information about Allen Ann Sasser's ancestry. The Herrings were from Lenoir County, NC.
