ATTENTION: all descendants of HENRY SASSER & NANCY KIRBY Dear Don, and all you cousins who are descended from HENRY SASSER & his wife NANCY KIRBY. I haven't noticed anything in what I have been given about the parents of NANCY KIRBY. Maybe you already have this and if so, forgive the repetition. I just happened to be going through deeds from Johnston County, North Carolina and noticed one dated 7 Aug., 1818. This deed was made by THOMAS KIRBY Senior and his son CHARLES KIRBY, both of Johnston County, in which they sold 250 acres of land for $370 to Stephen Grice. The deed states the land was on the north side of Poplar Branch, adjoining the farm land of HENRY SASSER. The deed was witnessed by H. SASSER and ABEL SASSER. I believe this THOMAS KIRBY Senior was the father of NANCY. Can anyone confirm this? HENRY and NANCY witnessed a deed a short time later, on 24 Nov., 1818, from Joseph Newsom of Anson Co. to James Watson of Johnston Co. Robert Earl Woodham
