Joseph Sasser was the first Sasser I have in my lineage. He died in 1806 and was from Anson County and was married to Mary Bryan Hart. There seems to be some confusion about the Josiah Sasser who had the court house in his home in Wayne County and this Joseph Sasser. The DAR records show Josiah as the Sasser who died in 1806 yet records clearly show that Josiah Sasser from Wayne County died in 1780 (this is verified by the book "The History of Wayne County and papers from the North Carolina archives. I have not found the lineage of "my" Joseph Sasser but feel that the North Carolina Sassers were all one big family. My Joseph Sasser was the father of Richard Sasser, who fathered John, Noah, and Richard. This John Sasser (born 1806) was my great, great grandfather--John, James, James Lucius, Lucius, my father. I am very interested in knowing the father of Joseph Sasser. Beth Sasser McBay
