Hello, LaRoy Alton Smith, b. 10 Jan. 1924, Luther OK, was the third child of Linna Ethel Sasser (James Nelson, Henry Lee, Adin Thomas, John Henry Sasser) and Henry Dewey Smith. He died on July 28, 1998 in Vancouver Washington. I have tried to get an obit from my relatives to post here but have had no success. LaRoy served in the Navy during WWII and I'm sure the details of that service would be of interest to the group. Family says he was involved in the highly secret training for the atomic bombing of Japan. I believe he rose to the rank of Major. He was also prominent in the Masonic Order in WA.
