    3. Mike, > Does anyone have any information on where Sasser Ky. might have been? Was it > just a Post Office? It is my understanding that Sasser, Ky was a general store with a post office in it which was owned by my grandfather, Taylor Sasser (son of James Buchannan Sasser, son of William Henry Crawford Sasser, son of Henry Sasser). Grandfather died of pneumonia in January of 1949. My grandmother (Rose Brock Sasser) lived on the farm there til the late 60s, when she moved to London. I can remember being in the store when I was about 5 or 6 (I am 49 now). It burned down shortly after that. The store was only about a mile north, or northeast off of the Blackwater Rd. When I was growing up, the road was called Punchen Camp Rd.(there is a creek by that name which runs close). I think it is called Sasser Rd. now, but I am not sure. A couple of years ago I was back there with my father and we walked over the ground of "the old home place" (my father's words). Only about a mile or so up the road is the very nice grave site of Abraham Sasser. Since there are more than one by that name, I'm not sure that's your grandfather. I am at work, and so don't have all my Sasser stuff with me, but I think that Abraham was married to Lucy (Chadwell?). Well, If you need more information let me know and I'll try to help. My dicription of the location may not be completely accurate, but I could drive you right there. Sincerely yours, Phil Sasser Cary, NC
