Some sellers in this deed book gave their address as NC. On page 116 of the Isle of Wight Deed Book 2 it looks like the Perry's, "Merchants of London" in the year 1711 was accumulating much acreage in VA. Would this Thomas Kirby be Nancy Kirby's grandfather or g-grandfather? The date looks right. Joseph Bridger, Gent., of Isle of Wight to Micajah Perry and Richard Perry, Merchants of London.... 2230 acres at corrawaugh in Isle of Wight County (being part of the tract of 7800 acres granted to Robert Pitt, Joseph Bridger, deed., and William Birk (Burk), Gent. On 7 Jun 1666) and bounded by Corowaugh Swamp, Bow and Arrow Swamp and William Wheatly. Also, 60 acres in the lower parish called "Herring Plantation" and bounded by Herring Branch and Capt. James Benn. Wit: Samuel Selden, Thomas Dixon and Henry Lightfoot. Joseph Bridger Rec: 24 Mar 1711 (P.221) 4 Sep 1711... Francis seagrave of newport Parish to Walter Waters of the same.... 187 acres (being a patent granted James Corlee on 28 Oct 1690) bounded by Isaac Ricks. Land was sold by said James Corlrro (?)
