    1. Sasser's from Denmark
    2. My sister, Michele received this from a Sasser in Denmark. Any comments? Hey Michele Thanks for the mail. Yes you are right. I am from Denmark, so I do clearly understand why you cannot read my homepage. I am 17 years old and I study at at college in my home-town, Herning. I think it is very interesting that you try to put "the old Sassers" into a family tree. I have talked to my grandfather Axel Sasser, to get some further information, and he was able to give me some facts. He is born and grown up on the Danish island Bornholm. He said that there exist two runic stones near the chirch in the town Hasle located on Bornholm, and one near a chirch on an other Danish island called Taasinge. On these gravestones there is descriptions of some old Sassers. He also said that there exists an old proverb which says: "A Sasser is a person who pursues and kills" Probably the name Sasser is a very old name from Scandinavia, which includes Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. The name also appears in the following variants: Sasserson (sounds Swedish) and Sassersen which is Danish. Axel Sasser had originally the name Sassersen, but he changed it many years ago. So the cusin of my father has kept the name "Sassersen". I hope that this can be valuable in your research process. You are welcome to write if you collect other pieces of information which are interesting. I would be glad if you will send a message about where you live etc. Here you can see where Bornholm Taasinge and Herning is placed in Denmark. Good Luck! Dennis Sasser
