Hi Don, The book I am talking about is called "Claudia - The Story of Colonel Harland Sanders' Wife" by edward G. Klemm, Jr. Courier - Jorunal Litho Co. - Louisville, Ky. It was copyrighted in 1980. The Library of Congress Catalog Card No. 79-56639 The ISBN # is 0-89144-102-6 "Just as the trees of the farm were rooted in the soil so also was Claudia's family deep-rooted to the land. Her great-grandfather on her mother's side was named Jesse Sasser. He had come to Kentucky with his wife and had settled his family in Laurel County before the War Between the States, and from her earliest childhood Claudia heard stories about the war and about this great-grandfather who left home to fight with the Union Army. She was to learn of his adventures and of his death in the fighting somewhere in Tennessee or Georgia. The family never was able to learn the details of his death nor of the incidents surrounding it. His body was never recovered and his end has remained a mystery to this day." It goes on to briefly mention Daniel Boone, another branch of the family and also mentions her great-great-grandfather Glass. I don't have Claudia entered into my Family Tree Maker program yet because I don't have her parents. I have written to the relative who sent me a copy of the book and have asked her if she has the information. Claudia's parents names were Jerry and Nancy Ledington. I will be happy to share with you any information I get. Sherry
