As I understand from what Lisle told me, Claudia Ledington Sanders (wife of Colonel Harland Sanders, the symbol of KFC) was a daughter of Nancy Elizabeth Glass, who married Jeremiah Moses Ledington, Jr. Nancy Elizabeth Glass was a daughter of Rhoda Elizabeth Sasser and Hiram Glass. Rhoda Elizabeth Sasser was a daughter of Jesse Sasser (one of Henry and Nancy's fourteen). If there is any inaccuracy in what I am stating, I take responsibility, for Lisle and Fay are Claudia's first cousins and thus know the facts very well. Their mother was Allie Glass (inaccurately called Aline, I am told, in the book about Claudia), sister of Nancy Elizabeth. A photo of the Colonel is located among the other pictures of Lisle's close relatives. My reference to him as "famous" evoked amusement and protests from her. I am sending my reply to the whole Sasser group because this might be of general interest (and because I reported several months ago that I had heard of Claudia's being a descendant of Henry Sasser).
