Glenn: Very interesting reading. Thanks for the info. Each time I read accounts of the Laurel/Knox County areas, it makes me want to go visit. I have a student from London, KY, this semester, but she doesn't seem to know much about the area. Re your story of Campbell's family collecting money to restore the cemetary, I have never heard any of this before.....I'm not familiar with any funds being collected to restore the cemetary or with anyone running off to Vegas with them. If something this "exciting" had happened in the last 35 years (+or-), I'm sure I would have heard. I will remember to ask Dad if he knows anything about it. If so, he's never mentioned it. An uncle went to Vegas about 30 years ago....and he's the only one in the family I know of who has even been there, except for me. And I know I didn't do it :-) Seriously, though, I'll see what I can find out. Again, thanks for the info......your descriptions are almost as good as being there!
