Ray Martin strongly encourages all of the local talent, some of whom are older musicians who've tired of touring but still like to perform as long as it's close to home. According to Boots Walker, one of the regular players with the 'Pickers & Grinners', "Over the years Ray Martin has encouraged me to step up to the mike and perform the songs I've written. I can't tell you how much his support has paid off." The 'Pickers & Grinners' consist of musicians from all over who stop in to play for our jam sessions.
