To the group: I found the following info on Abel Sasser and Benjamin Sasser at the NC archives last week. It comes from "Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files," Vol III: N-Z, by Virgil D. White (1990), p. 3020. Abel Sasser's pension file is #S7450. It says he lived in Johnston County at enlistment and applied for his pension on 27 Aug 1832. He was 69 at the time and was born in NC. (This doesn't agree exactly with earlier info I posted from another book, which had him as 71 in 1831). Benjamin Sasser's pension file is #S7446. He was b. 1755 in Dobbs County, lived in Duplin County at enlistment, and lived in Johnston County for 1 year following the War. He then moved to Wayne County and then on to Columbus County in 1798. His son, Frederick Sasser, was a resident of Columbus County in 1832. Benjamin applied for his pension on 14 Aug 1832. Doug Sherman dougsherma@aol.com
