    3. To: Earl and all From: Glenn Sorry I was so vague in referring to "Glasses who married Sassers." According to "A well published story," which Don shared with us (the one with that starts with the account of Palatinate origin), two of Jesse's daughters married Glasses (brothers, I believe). Rhoda married Hiram Glass, while Frances Evelyn married George Glass. The Rhoda who had the Bible (daughter of Rhoda and Hiram??) apparently was a much respected English teacher in the high school in Lexington, for when I met her she was retired from the public schools and--as I understood-- teaching at the University of Kentucky, presumably as a part-time (adjunct) instructor for freshman English Composition. She was a very dignified lady. I would not want to seem to be ridiculing her, and I am not. But my aunt and uncle used to tell me with some amusement that, in Lexington, she claimed to be a native of Culpepper County, Virginia (which she told me was where our Gilbert forebears came from) rather than admit that she came from the hills of Laurel County. I am not sure whether I saw her obituary, but I heard from the same people that it gave one of the Bluegrass counties as her place of birth. ***************************************** Glenn E.
