Dear Bill and others: The "C.Bryant" you asked about who served in the "Bartow Avengers", Company K 31st Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, was CASSON BRYANT (Bryant) SASSER. He was born in 1843 in Lee County, Georgia, the son of ABRAHAM J. SASSER and his first wife. I don't know the name Abraham's first wife. She died soon after Bryant was born and Abraham later married 2nd to Margaret E. COOK in 1845. The Madison you asked about was MADISON T. SASSER, the oldest son of ABRAHAM J. and his first wife and a brother of Bryant. ABRAHAM J. was born in 1815 in either Johnston or Wayne Counties, NC.
