I have been doing some Census work on the Stephen Sasser line. I have him in Wayne Co. NC. I have him going through the indian lands through GA in 1810. I haven't been able to find him in 1840 or 1850 Census in MS. Does any one have an explanation for this? I have located land records in MS on Stephen and his sons, Lewis, James, William & Joseph in the late 1850's on the MS Land Record Cd. Also is there really a place called Sasser City? Where is it? Also, where does everyone get Joseph's father was Richard b. England? My mother had gotten her Sasser information from a book and I had some questions and thought that the family members would be the best place to start. Thanks for any tips on this family.
