    3. page 171 State of North Carolina n 207.3 Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty shillings for ??? hundred acres hereby granted ???? into ???? treasury by Henry Sasser have given and granted and by thence presents do give and grant unto the said Henry Sasser a tract of land containing seventy five acres lying and being in the County of Johnston on the water of the Popular branch. Beginning at a stake his own corner in Thomas Kirbys line near a small branch thence Kirbys line South fifty six poles to Kirbys corner on a small black gum in the Hickory pond thence Kirbys line east two hundred and sixteen poles to Kirbys corner on a pine in Thomas Alkimom line thence Alkemons line North fifty six poles to his own corner on a small persimmon tree in the said Alkimim line thence West to the beginning entered the 23 of May 1815. And by the ???? annexed north appear together with all woods., water, mines, minerals, Heritances and appurtenance to the said land belonging or appertaining: To Hold to the said Henry Sasser his heirs and assigns forever yielding and paying to us sun sum of money yearly or ???? as our govinal assembly from time to time ???? provided always that the said grantee shall ??? this grant to be registered in the register office of our said county of Johnston within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be voided. For testimony whereof We have caused thence our letter to be said patent and our grant seal to be hereto affixed. William Miller Esquire, our governor Captain General and Commander in chief at Raleigh the 4th day of October in the forty first year of our independence and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Sixteen By Command Wm.
