I just signed up to this list so this is the first message I've seen. My wife is a descendent of a John Sasser (sounds like the same one you're referring to.) She took a picture of his tombstone last year. According to it, he lived from 11/21/1784 to 8/24/1875. His wife was listed as Mary A with her dates being 4/15/1819 to 5/6/1904.
