Carroll, So far, I know of only one child of ELISHA SASSR, born in 1801. ELISHA married ELIZA ANN STARLING. However, they very likely had other children. The one I know of was ELI SASSER Sr., born 22 Feb., 1826 and died 10 Mar., 1890. ELI Sr. was married three times: (1) Peggy Ann Garner (Garne) in 1846, Eliza Garner (Garne) in 1849 and Mary Howell about 1876. He had at least one son by his second marriage, ELI Jr., born in 1861 and died 1905. He had at least three children by his third wife: George Washington, Wiley Cleveland and Luther Blaine Sasser. ELI Sr. left a will in 1890. I do not have a copy of this so I can't tell you what all it says. It is on file at the Johnston County courthouse in Smithfield. Change the name of the father of ELISHA to just plain HENRY SASSER (NOT "John Henry"). HENRY SASSER was born in 1784 and died in 1872. He was married twice and has four children by his first marriage to ANN (maiden name may have been BOYETTE): ELISHA, STEPHEN, ELLEN ANN ("Allen") and ELIZABETH ("Lizzie"). He married second to ELIZABETH (whose maiden name may have been GRANT): they had four children, including WILLIAM HENRY, "BUZZY", ELIZA JANE and ELIZABETH. Henry left a will dated 17 June, 1872, on file in the Wayne County courthouse at Goldsboro. He died at New Hope in Wayne County, NC.
