Don Sasser ---------- From: Mike Sasser Sent: Thursday, August 14, 1997 8:27 PM To: Don Sasser Subject: Sasser Genealogical Assistance Mr. Sasser: I was wondering if you could advise me on how to go about tracing the ancestry of my great-grandfather, John Dallas Sasser, born in the 1850s, possibly in Geneva County, Alabama. His wife was Sarah Eliza Hall-Sasser, and their offspring included John Marion Sasser (my grandfather), born April 1883/died 1956, both in Geneva County, Alabama. Relying solely on the remembrance of my father and mother, I have been able to trace my ancestry back to my great-grandfather but no further. I note the Sasser's can be traced to the 1600s in Maryland, do you have any information as to their country of origin? It is interesting that you live in Columbus, Georgia. In the early 40s my father left Geneva County, Alabama and relocated to Columbus to find employment in the textile mills. He lived their until WWII, and after the war returned to the area to live through the early 50s. Eventually they settled in North Florida, where I live today. Our e-mail address is msasser@panama.gulf.net, and we look forward to hearing from you soon. Regards, Michael G. Sasser Panama City, Florida
