Debbie M ---------- From: David Huffines[SMTP:dhuffines-birmingham@WORLDNET.ATT.NET] Sent: Monday, August 04, 1997 7:52 PM To: NC-SC-ROOTS-L@LISTSERV.INDIANA.EDU Subject: [NC-SC] German Resource Today my copy of "The German Research Companion" by Shirley J. Riemer arrived. All of my preliminary checking leads me to commend it to any person with German ancestors. It is not a "how to" book but a real resource tool to anyone doing research on German ancestors, in this country or in Germany. > For example there are: maps time lines German history outlines "shorthand" symbols used in German church records Resosurce center listings in Germany and in the US a list of all the Family History Centers in the US articles about life in Germany and in the early US and on and on > I got my copy from: Pennsylvania Chapter Palatines to America PO Box 280 Strassburg, PA 17579 IT COST $29.00 and since I am a member they paid the postage. It is a new book, published in 1997, so I am sure that it can be gotten from the publisher: Loreli Press, or any good book store. > I have absolutely no financial interest in the book or the publisher, but I recommend that you look at a copy. > Good Searching - Good Finding - Good Luck!
