There is a strong possibility that the JOSIAH SASSER that severa of you have asked about is the same Josiah who was a son of ARTHUR SASSER and his wife ELIZABETH of Johnston County, NC. Arthur died about 1815. He left a will and estate records in which his son JOSIAH was named as an heir, along with seven daughters. One of his daughters, OBEDIANCE ("Beady"), married CHARLES KIRBY. There seems to have been a strong tie between the family and the Kirby family, starting at an early period. I have NO proof, however, that the Josiah of Laurel County, Kentucky is the SAME Josiah, son of Arthur. However, I can find no other Josiah that "fits the bill". Both the other two Josiah's from that period can be accounted for. And by the process of elimination, I believe the Josiah of Laurel County was the son of Arthur. I doubt if we will ever find documented proof though. Robert Earl
