CARY, NC--Nathan I. Sasser of Cary was the winner of the North Carolina statewide American Legion High School Oratorical Contest this summer. Nathan was featured in articles in several North Carolina newspapers and the NC American Legion paper and the national American Legion magazine. Nathan is a senior this year at Cary High School here. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Phillip ("Phil") Sasser and a grandson of George Sasser. In addition to winning this major honor, Nathan has also won many other awards, including "Outstanding Attorney" in the North Carolina State Mock Trial competition sponsored by the NC Trial Lawyers Association; appointment as a Justice to the NC Boys State Supreme Court; and appointment to the NC Governor's School.
