    3. I have tried to follow the list(ing) of Sasser family names the last couple of weeks and am not really sure I understand what I know. I have to summarize the list as best I can. I am looking for the parents/siblings of Sabra(Sabry) Sasser, b. abt 1760, Dobbs Co., NC. I have tried to save every bit of info on any Sasser in that part of the country, hoping to get a link to her. I have seen a posting, listing a Sasser and Boyett in the same sentence, along with Dobbs/Wayne Co., NC. For some reason, I have lost that particular posting. to wit: (1) Sabra Sasser married James Boyett, abt. 1768, in Dobbs Co., NC. I assume, from the postings, that Dobbs was replace with Wayne Co. sometime after 1758. James (b. Northampton Co., NC) moved from Wayne Co., NC to Burke Co.,GA and later to Screven Co.,GA. His household is included in the 1790 census of Burke Co. (2) William Sasser (1715-1815) was shown in a posting, as being born in NC, and being a French Huguenot. I have heard that the Boyt/Boyet/Boyett/Boyette's were Huguenots also, but nothing specific. (3) William Sasser(1715-1815) had three sons, (1) Josiah (c. 1745-1781); (2) Stephen (c. 1747-1815); (3) John Jr. (c 1750-); (4) William (c.. 1753-1815); (5) Mary ( ). (4) Jame Boyett's father, Edward Boyette(Boyte), b. in Nansemond Co., VA, died in Wayne Co., NC, aft. 1785, so Dobbs Co., must have changed to Wayne Co. before 1785. (5) One of the postings mentions that "the French Sassers who were no kin to the other Sassers in the area-owned land in the eastern part of Johnston Co., that was split off to create Dobbs County in 1758 (now extinct),......... It goes on to say that Henry Sasser (1778 NC-1859 KY) was probably born there. QUESTION: Am I to understand there were two seperate families of Sassers in Dobbs Co. at the same time, one French the other ________? If the French Sassers were in the part of the county that was formed into Dobbs, what nationatility were the other Sassers in Dobbs Co.? If it appears that I have confused myself, then I have. I have tried to remove all the postings about family name meanings, and in the process, afraid I have removed some vital piece of information that may have given me the links to Sabra' parents/siblings. Any of the children of John Sasser could have been her siblings, or she could have been from a family of the " French Sassers " that do not connect to the Sassers? I would really appreciate any help on this line of the Sasser family, especially if I have anything wrong that I have posted. I am not beyond getting the facts confused.-Bill William L.
